Get Started with Not.io

Follow these simple steps to set up Not.io and start capturing notes to Notion in minutes.

Setup time: ~5 minutes
Step 1: Download the ExtensionRequired
Install Not.io from the Chrome Web Store

Click the button below to visit the Chrome Web Store and install the Not.io extension.

Note: After installation, you'll see the Not.io icon in your Chrome toolbar. If you don't see it, click the puzzle piece icon and pin Not.io.

Step 2: Get Your Notion API KeyRequired
Create an integration in your Notion workspace

Follow these steps:

  1. 1Go to notion.so/my-integrations
  2. 2Click "New integration" and name it "Not.io"
  3. 3Copy the "Internal Integration Token"
  4. 4Click the Not.io extension icon and paste your token

Security: Your API key is stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.

Step 3: Connect Your Notion DatabaseRequired
Choose where your notes will be saved

Database setup:

  1. 1Create a new database in Notion or use an existing one
  2. 2Share the database with your Not.io integration
  3. 3Copy the database URL and paste it in the extension settings If you attempt to do so and the extension closes and resets the token, see the Help page, under FAQ & connect database.
Recommended Database Properties:
  • • Title: Text (for note title)
  • • Content: Text (for captured content)
  • • Source: URL (for original webpage)
  • • Tags: Multi-select (for organization)
  • • Created: Date (for timestamp)
